Take a Stitch Tuesday

It feels good to get to participate in Take a Stitch Tuesday again! Thank you,  Sharon B for the instructions to the Whipped Chain stitch.  I have a lovely collection of fancy threads and decided this would be the perfect time to use one of them.  I chose the very fluffy Estaz by Glisten Gloss.  I am not very happy with it.  The fluffies shifted and left bare thread in spots.  I guess the only way to use that thread is by couching it down.  Kind of disappointing.

If you are looking for perfectionism, then the fluffy thread will disappoint you, as a smooth and even thread would 'sit' much better over the Chain stitches. However, I think the fancy thread you have used creates a wonderfully fluffy wormy kind of creature! On cq you often see spiders and lady birds, why not worms!?

Slow Stitching Sunday

 Working on another wool mandala.  It is a pleasure to have the wool on my lap now that the weather has turned colder.  I started this project back in the summer and didn't enjoy working on it so much then.  I wonder if I can complete this project this winter.  There are fifteen wool mandalas to do.  It doesn't seem likely that I will.  I could be wrong.  I don't want to put any undue pressure on myself.  There is no deadline.  The spring might be cool enough to continue working on it.   My but I do jump into the future.  Slow stitching really helps me to be present.  I am so grateful that stitching is such a balm for my soul.  We all need to have something that does that for us.   I am linking to https://kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
